The Families Connected Website is a free youth wellness resource accessible without charge to parents, guardians, educators and teens seeking youth wellness information, articles, videos, blogs and infographics. Use of the this website is subject to your compliance with the terms and conditions (“terms”) set forth below. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY. The Families Connected website was created in 2015 to connect parents, guardians, educators and teens with national resources to help improve youth social-emotional wellness and reduce stigma around mental health issues. The website was produced and is owned by LSM Communications, LLC (LSM). LSM does not monetize the website through pop-up ads or advertising, nor does it use targeting or advertising cookies.
South Bay Families Connected, a non profit 501(c)3 (pages designated in the pull down menu under “South Bay Families Connected”) and the Families Connected Partner Schools (designated in the pull down menu in the navigation bar under “Partner Schools”) are housed within the website. South Bay Families Connected and the Families Connected Partner Schools direct and are solely responsible for the content produced on their pages. LSM produces and curates all Families Connected resource pages (designated in the pull down menu in the navigation bar under Families Connected, as well as the video library and testimonial page).
This website includes curated resources from reputable organizations and articles from national news sources. When clicking into any of the website links featured, please note the terms of use of that particular website, including use of Cookies.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to access or use our Site. If you are under 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority where you live), you may only access or use our Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a user under the age of 18 (or the age of legal majority), you agree to be fully responsible for the acts or omissions of such user in connection with our Site. You must be 13 or older to enter information using these forms. SBFC and Affiliates may use this information to communicate with you such as sending an online newsletter at your request. This information is NOT disclosed to third parties by SBFC and Affiliates. SBFC and Affiliates do collect data on total number of website visits, page visits and the city location of the visitor.
SBFC and Affiliates do not control or monitor the data collected by third party sites from the third party links provided on our Site. SBFC and Affiliates are not responsible for third party compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act regarding the collection of information from children under the age of 13.

No portion of the materials on these pages may be reprinted, republished, modified, or distributed in any form without the express written permission of SBFC and Affiliates. THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF SBFC AND AFFILIATES FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR OUR SITE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE ACTION, IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID, IF ANY, BY YOU TO ACCESS OR USE OUR SITE.

10. Release
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release LSM Communications, LLC, SBFC and Affiliates from responsibility, liability, claims, demands, and/or damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown (including, but not limited to, claims of negligence), arising out of or related to disputes between users and the acts or omissions of third parties. You expressly waive any rights you may have under California Civil Code § 1542 as well as any other statute or common law principles that would otherwise limit the coverage of this release to include only those claims which you may know or suspect to exist in your favor at the time of agreeing to this release.
11. Confidential and Proprietary Information
SBFC and Affiliates do not want to receive confidential or proprietary information from you through the Site. Please note that any information or material sent to SBFC Affiliates through the Site will be deemed NOT to be confidential. By sending SBFC and Affiliates any information or material, you grant SBFC and Affiliates an unrestricted, irrevocable, world-wide, royalty free license to use, reproduce, display, perform, modify, transmit, and distribute those materials or information, and you also agree that SBFC and Affiliates is free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques that you send us for any purpose.
12. Choice of Law and Venue
These Terms are entered into in the State of California and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, exclusive of its choice of law rules. Each party to these Terms submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in the County of Los Angeles in the State of California, and waives any jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient forum objections to such courts. In any action to enforce these Terms, the prevailing party will be entitled to costs and attorney's fees. In the event that any of the Terms are held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, those provisions shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may make changes to these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the amended Terms to our Site and update the “Last Updated” date above. Unless we say otherwise in our notice, the amended Terms will be effective immediately and your continued access to and use of our Site after we provide notice will confirm your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you must stop accessing and using our Site.
14. Termination
We reserve the right, without notice and in our sole discretion, to terminate your right to access or use our Site. We are not responsible for any loss or harm related to your inability to access or use our Site.
15. Severability
If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms is unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision or part of the provision is deemed severable from these Terms and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
