Resilience, or the ability of an individual to function competently in the face of adversity or distress, is an important protective factor for both adolescents and adults. COVID-19, with its continuing and lasting impacts, has presented many unprecedented and unique challenges for Beach Cities students and families. Families Connected Speaker Series keynote speaker Dr. Kelly Greco will guide participants through a discussion for parents, caregivers and community members to learn how to utilize and teach life skills that help families cope and managing the stressors, loss, disappointments and unique challenges of life – with and without COVID-19.
About the presenter
Dr. Kelly Greco has been at USC Student Health since 2005 as the Assistant Director of Outreach and Prevention. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor and Faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine USC. Dr. Greco's passions include using strength-based practices like positive psychology, and solution-focused strategies to build resiliency and help the community thrive. Dr. Greco enjoys teaching and empowering adolescents and adults by teaching self-care and compassionate training skills that offer empathy, curiosity and inclusivity as well as enhance a sense of connection and authenticity within the community.
